Trujillo Peru has been amazing. We have served alongside Inka Thakhi, Amijai, and Elim, participating in various sports ministries and Bible studies. Most often we work with the kids, but we have also had the opportunity to lead a few women’s Bible studies. I have so much to say, but can’t sort out how to organize it all, so here are a few photos of our time here so far. Enjoy!
Amijai is a ministry with Inca Link that does Bible studies with the kids in one part of town on Tuesday evenings and with kids that live close to campus on Wednesday nights. They also have women’s.
Before Bible study starts we have time to kill while all the kids arrive. This particular week I passed my camera off to some of the kids and ended up with these cute photos. Please note Sergio in the back with his marbles as eyes. He loves to play marbles.

Mariella prepares all our meals here. She is a great cook and keeps us well fed. Even more so, she loves sharing her heart for the Lord. Every night we talk about where we have seen the Lord that day. Just look at the joy on her face. She radiates light everywhere she goes.
We will all miss her when we move on to Bolivia, but we will soak up as much of her wisdom and encouragement as we can before then.
Alex has led us in a couple of worship nights and it has been such a blessing to have him with us these first two weeks. (photo taken by my awesome teammate Kristen)

Kristen handed her camera off to one of the kids who took this amazing photo that quickly became a team favorite. We stopped playing sports long enough to pile in for a photo. The joy and love seen are genuine. We love the kiddos of Inka Thakhi and are thankful we get to do ministry alongside the awesome leaders here.
Two of the girls we consistently see at Inka Thakhi. They are sweet and sassy and so much fun. I have been able to join them for a different Bible study on Friday evenings and it has been so cool to see their knowledge and enthusiasm for the Bible. Day one the sweet girl on the left told me I was her sister because we are sisters in Christ. They bring so much joy. (photo taken by Kristen)
We’ve had the opportunity to go on lots of adventures. This day included sandboarding. We climbed up the side of a mountain made of sand and rocks and surfed down the sand on the board. It looks like a snowboard, although my northern teammates say it feels quite different than snowboarding. It wasn’t easy but it was a ton of fun.
There will be much more to come, but that is all for now. Thank you all for your support and for following along. For now, I am getting ready to walk through the dirt roads of this city to a smaller and more remote part where we will do a Bible lesson with sweet kiddos eager to learn about and experience the love of the Father.
With love,
Kayla
