Out here in Guatemala having a sweet time. Still traveling with the Hot Wheels car that my dad sent around the world with me.
We worked alongside YWAM Guatemala City and made the sweetest friends in the staff there. Every morning we had base devotion in the perfect blend of Spanish and English.
Kids ministry in the gang neighborhoods was one of my favorite things. Giving these kids the space to just be kids and have lighthearted fun was the best. Also I’ll play soccer on a narrow foreign street any day.
We took an adventure day and hiked the volcano Acatenango. We camped over night and hiked back down the next day. It was HARD, and we have stories we will tell for years.
We came to the beautiful city of Antigua for our debrief, where the whole squad gets to catch up and debrief the months they just finished and get prepared to enter into the next country.
While at debrief we had the opportunity to worship with some of the other World Race squads who are on the field and are currently in Guatemala as well.
The squad leaders who are on the other two squads circled around Josiah and I to pray for us as we head into our next and final month.
G squad is about to head into the jungle in Costa Rica and will likely have little to no wifi. I’m so excited for all this month holds and for finishing well. Saying goodbye will definitely be hard but they are ready to step into ownership and finish this race of theirs on their own.
All photos taken by one of my incredibly talented participants and friends Hanna Smith.
With all the love,
Kayla
I am still fundraising as I finish my time on the field if you would consider partnering with me in this I would appreciate it!
I’m the proudest friend ever.
